Harry James Finnemeyer, Jr., 76, passed away at his home on April 20, 2023. He was the loving husband of the late Barrie (Herbert) Finnemeyer. Born in Hatfield, he was the son of the late Harry James Finnemeyer, Sr., and Shirley (Weierman) Finnemeyer.
Jim was a longtime member of Emanuel E.C. Church, Hatfield. He worked as a teacher for 35 years in the North Penn School District. As part of his role as an educator, Jim has a long-legacy in student activities, serving as the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC), creator and Director of summer leadership workshops for Pennsylvania high school students, and the Executive Director of the National Association for Student Activities (NA4SA). He was also a long-time contributor to the Horatio Alger Association.
He is survived by his children Matthew Finnemeyer (Valerie) and Andrew Finnemeyer; grandchildren Leaniya, Zedrian, and Nikko; sister Lana Turner, brother Jim Herbert (Wendy); along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at 5pm on Friday, August 11 at the North Penn High School.
