James Cochran

James ``Jim" R. Cochran, 77, of Lansdale, PA, formerly of West Virginia, husband of Virginia L. (Tyson) Cochran, passed away on Saturday, September 9th, at The Birches at Harleysville.

Born in Diana, WV, he was the son of the late Denzil and Dorothy (Goff) Cochran.

Jim's true passion was golf which he shared with his children and grandchildren. He worked for Merck for almost 42 years, and "founded" the Merck Southern Connection golf team.  Jim was also a member of USW Local #10-0086. Since his retirement Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and trips to his West Virginia homestead.

Surviving with his wife of 19 years, is daughter Ranae Cochran Gabel, wife of Matthew; step-daughter Devon Smedley, wife of Greg; step-son Brendon Derr, husband of Rachel; brother Warren "Jargo" Cochran, husband of Nadine; sister Linda Cochran; grandchildren Shawn Gabel, Shea Gabel, Hope Derr, Mason Smedley, Isaiah Derr, Carson Smedley, Sadie Smedley and Roman Derr.

Services and interment are private at the wishes of the family.
