Joseph William Latrechiano

Joseph William Latrechiano, 71, born on July 29, 1952, went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2024 .

Joseph died in Montgomeryville, PA surrounded by his wife and friends after an illness. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Salvatore Joseph and Margaret Veronica Latrechiano (Blockett).

He graduated from Hatboro Horsham High School in 1970 and then spent a few years at Temple University where he later began working at Kmart as a manager. He worked at Kmart for 25 years, developing lifelong friendships there. Later in life Joseph worked for Bethany Christian Services of Greater Delaware Valley providing safety and security services for staff.

Joseph married the love of his life Elizabeth (Gail) Harris and they spent the next 43 years together creating their love story and making memories with each other with their shared love of animals and crafting. He enjoyed learning about history, and was an enthusiastic collector of civil war items. He also enjoyed trains and creating soldier diodes. Joseph was the author of a children's book, "There's a T-Rex in my Bed", written about one of his beloved dogs. He  was known for caring for people, had a way with words and making them feel seen and valued. He was a leader in their community for 20 years.

He loved animals and treated each one like a family member. Most recently he developed a special bond with his beloved Casper.

Joseph was preceded in death by Salvatore Joseph and Margaret Veronica Latrechiano (Blockett) and a sister, is survived by his beloved wife, 1 sister, many nieces and nephews, a brother and sister in law, and long time friends who loved him as well as his furry family members Casper, Cinnamon, and Gidget.

We are thankful that Joseph is now in the arms of His savior.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Church, 820 PA-113, Souderton, PA 18964.
