During the course of her medical career, Maureen was an RN serving at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, Nazareth, Frankford and Torresdale Hospital, Philadelphia. Most of her career was in the ER.
Maureen always wanted to become a doctor. As her children grew up and entered high school, she had decided to return to school to qualify for entrance into medical school. After graduation, she had opened a physician practice in Hatfield, PA with her associate George Seavy (Seavy & Sestito Internal Medicine Associates). After several years at the practice, the practice was bought by Abington Hospital Group.
Maureen was then the acting Director of Medicine at Montgomery County Prison. After leaving the prison, she returned to her roots as a hospitalist at Abington-Lansdale Hospital until 2019.
She was an accomplished artist in her spare time and appeared on the NPR Radio Show, Studio 360 explaining how the book entitled "The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax" motivated her to become a doctor later in life. One of her favorite places to visit was Cape Cod during the Fall.
