Nancy Lee (nee Connon) Wessell

Deceased: May 9, 2020 in Harleysville, PA, Aged 84

Nancy Lee (Connon) Wessell peacefully passed on to the Lord on May 9, 2020 surrounded by family.

Born at Abington Hospital, Nancy was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Bittle) Connon, of Philadelphia.

Known as "Animal", she graduated in 1955 from the Wissahickon Farm School, Philadelphia.  Nancy worked as a server with various restaurants for most of her life to support her family.  Nancy was most excited by her love of animals, family, and her weekly Bible Study. She enjoyed playing solitaire and pinochle as well as caring for her cats, Squirrel and Misty, along with countless neighborhood strays.

She is survived by her sister, Mary (Connon) Wagner; her four children, Marcia Wessell, her partner Freddie Clarke, William (Schooch) Wessell, his partner Melanie (Mel); Bonnie (Wessell) Yerkes, her husband Jeff Yerkes; and Marjorie (Lulu) and her husband Steven Zarenkiewicz; eight grandchildren, Kenny, Undray, Cynthia (Tootie), Heather, Shane, Matthew, Alec, Jonathan; and six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many lifelong friends who will miss her greatly.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son Mark Wessell, her parents, and her sisters Helen (Connon) Parke, and Ruth (Connon) Fox.

A celebration of life will be held on September 25th at 9:30 a.m at Trinity Christian United Church of Christ, 2009 Church Road, Skippack, PA. Internment will follow at approximately 11:30 a.m. at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler. Masks are required for anyone who is not vaccinated.
