Ruth M. Kirrstetter

Ruth Kirrstetter passed peacefully in the early morning of November 16, 2023 at the age of 99.   Until the last month of her life, she fully enjoyed playing bridge and card games, watching her beloved Phillies and Eagles, reading and keeping up with current events. She had been a resident of Normandy Farms Estates since 2009.

Ruth was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived for many years in Glenside, PA.  She was a graduate of Germantown High School and Temple University.  She had a long career in banking and rose to be the Executive  Assistant to the Chairman of First Pennsylvania Bank.  Ruth was also a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glenside.  She was active in one of  their Ladies Circles.   Ruth was a dedicated volunteer at the Glenside Library and the Chestnut Hill Hospital thrift shop.

Ruth was a loyal, loving and faithful aunt.  She is survived by nieces Gail Kirrstetter (Ambler), Jane Ingram (husband Jeff, Rye Beach, NH), Bekke Hess (Bullhead City, AZ) and nephew Bill Hess (wife LeeAnn, Tracy, CA).  She is also survived by grandnieces and grandnephews Julie McDonagh, John Ingram, Matthew Hess and Ashlee Gordon.  There are six great great nieces/nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by her sister Kathryn K. Hess and her brother Theodore H. Kirrstetter, Jr.

In her lifetime Ruth enjoyed traveling and visiting with family in  Bermuda, California and Hawaii  and points in between. She also conducted extensive genealogy research into the Kirrstetter family in Germany back to the 1500s.

Ruth lived her life with dignity.  She was kind and gracious and a woman of faith.

Burial will be private.
