William C. "Bill" Anderson

William "Bill" C. Anderson 76, of Harleysville, passed away October 5, 2023 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by wife Andrea (Eissler).

Born in Philadelphia, Bill was the son of the late William A. and Dorothy (Axt) Anderson.

No one lived out the belief that "Once a Marine – Always a Marine" more than he. Bill served our country as a member of 1st Battalion 9th Marines "The Walking Dead" during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of LaSalle University. With a wide variety of interests, he enjoyed fishing at the Jersey Shore and Nags Head, along with hunting, and gardening. As an avid reader, Bill's recent focus was on the Civil War and has visited to several of the battlefields. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church in Lansdale where he enjoyed helping out with Bingo. His memberships included The Knights of Columbus Council 9715, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1539 (Sellersville), Hatfield American Legion Post 933, and he served as Treasurer for the Milford Township Fish Game and Forestry Association.

Bill was a loving, loyal, and caring Husband, Father, Grandpop, Brother, and Friend who will be greatly missed.

Surviving with his wife are daughters Carrie L. Anderson (Shawn A. Bean) and Elyse M. McElwaine (Patrick), step-sons Matthew A. Wimmer (Teri), Gregory S. Wimmer (Nicole) Ryan C. Wimmer, and brothers Kenneth R. Anderson (Diane) and Eric A. Anderson (Mary), as well as grandchildren Morgan McElwaine, Eva McElwaine, Luke Kraus, Ashlyn Keiser, Alexander Wimmer, Michael Wimmer, Piper Wimmer and Zachary Wimmer. He is predeceased by his first wife F. Lynne Anderson (Jungles) and sister Janine Valle.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale and on Saturday from 9:00AM to 9:45AM at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, with Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00AM.  Burial will be Thursday, October 19, 10:30AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery with military honors.
