Our Story

Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home

Located in the heart of town, Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home is proud to be the oldest established funeral home in Lansdale. Founded in 1878 by Samuel B. Conver, the funeral home has a long-standing tradition of serving the community with care and compassion. Mr. Conver operated the business for 37 years before passing it on to George R. Huff, Sr. in 1915. Under his leadership, the funeral home was relocated to 414 West Main Street and became known as George R. Huff & Sons Funeral Home.

As the community grew, so did the needs of the families it served. In 1951, a new facility was constructed at 701 Derstine Avenue, at the corner of Derstine and Cannon Avenues, providing a more spacious and accommodating environment.

Following Mr. Huff’s passing, Philip R. Lakjer assumed ownership, and the firm became Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home. Together with his wife, Lena, and their family, Mr. Lakjer provided compassionate, dedicated service to the community for more than 40 years. In the mid-1970s, an on-site crematory was added, allowing families the comfort and reassurance of having the entire cremation process handled on the premises.

Today, Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home continues its legacy under the supervision of Warren F. Miller III. For over 140 years, the funeral home has remained committed to serving the families of Lansdale and the North Penn region with professionalism, dignity, and heartfelt care in their time of need.
